A fabulous pair of Antique Whitby Jet Drop Earrings with beautiful Hand Carved Beads. Crafted in the Victorian Era, circa 1870’s. The beads feature a gorgeous carved textured acorn dangle bead paired with 9k gold posts.
Whitby Jet is extremely rare and only found on the 7.5 mile North Yorkshire coastline. Jet is a gemstone made from decaying wood under extreme pressure. It’s a type of coal-substance that washes up on the beaches of Whitby that’s approximately 182 million years old.
