Rare, beautiful, and unique Greenish Libyan Desert Glass (Great Sand Sea Glass or Libyan Gold). This specimen weighs 18.56 grams and measures 0.75” wide and 1.0” long. Beautiful Green Tektite with natural stripes. Sourced directly for authenticity. Comes with stand, floating tektite display case, and velvet carrying bag.
Believed to have formed 29 million years ago from meteorite impact or air burst (asteroid). Requires 2,912 degrees Fahrenheit to form. Similar composition to Moldavite and other tektites. Also used as tools and lithic weapons during the Pleistocene.
